Associate – Healthcare/Life Sciences M&A team, PhD/Masters level
Joining as an Associate in our team you would work closely with a Director and Partner in a deal team and be responsible for supporting all elements of the deal process as well as managing significant work streams on your own. With a high level of client exposure including a fair degree of international travel and the need to develop relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external, this role carries a high degree of responsibility towards deal success. The healthcare team has a high degree of global deal flow, indeed across the firm some 8% of our deals are cross-border and a high proportion over the £100m mark.
With approaching 50 people world-wide and 35 in London alone, clients tell us we are presenting a compelling argument to deliver their mandates. Staffed currently by a range of excellent team members at all levels with strong corporate finance skills and expertise, we have many interesting live projects currently and you would be straight into execution work with the usual continuing business development work alongside.
The ideal individual could be a life sciences PhD or studied to Masters level with a strong interest in a commercial career leveraging your academic qualifications. You may have an academic science-based education and have moved into accounting and finance but either way you’ll be able to demonstrate a strong interest in both the healthcare and life sciences sector and M&A. You may be an ACA with a strong science background or you may have two or more years’ experience as an analyst in M&A looking for an Associate role or currently an Associate looking to move to further your career in a pure-play healthcare environment.
Either way, most important is your demonstrable interest and enthusiasm to learn.
